THE PLEDGE
Well, here it is, the synopsis I promised for THE PLEDGE. It gives you a pretty darn good idea of what you can expect. THE PLEDGE is dark in a completely different way than THE BODY FINDER books; I think of it as a dystopic-fantasy since there are definitely elements of both in it.
But you know me, there’s also a fair amount of romance too...
Words are the most dangerous weapon of all.
In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.
Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.
And because I’m super stoked about sharing, I thought I'd post a little teaser too:
There was a long pause, and I thought my heart might explode. Each beat was painful as I told myself that this wasn’t happening, that I hadn’t just made such a grievous misstep. Surely I couldn’t have forgotten. My parents had worked so hard to teach me, to instill the importance of never, ever mistaking one language for another. And to never, ever break the rules.
And yet, here I was. Waiting to see if I would die.
Just in case you want to see the cover again…because I know I do…
Well...???

When is it out? Can it be sooner? How about it landing on my desk in thirty? Okay? Okay!
Seriously, this novel sounds amazing and I can't wait to read it. One of my favorite things about dystopian novels is to see how the author thought language would progress so to read a book about language is a dream come true. CAN'T wait to get my hands on a copy of this one!
Aaah, this sounds so amazing! I can't wait!
I was wondering will there be a third book?
because im so not ready to move on from Violet. :D

Holy crap. I cannot wait to read this. There have been a lot of dystopian stories lately, but The Pledge sounds so unique and intriguing!
Besos.
:D
Although I admit I'm glad it comes out in November so my book's release doesn't have to directly compete. ;)
