ENTHRALLED: Review and A Sweet Giveaway...
Book Love posted a great review of the entire ENTHRALLED anthology last week, check out what she had to say about my story, SKIN CONTACT:
Skin Contact by Kimberly Derting: Told from the mysterious Rafe's, from the Body Finder Series, POV and tells the story of his past, how he came to work for Agent Sara Priest, and how his powers work. This is a heart-breaking story, he has been through rough times and I couldn't help falling in love with him and his inner strength. I don't want to give too much away but it involves a love (different but as strong as Violet and Jay's), I'll leave it at that. This was the first story I read when I got this book and I was not disappointed. I can't wait to learn more about him in the third Body Finder book.
SWEET! I kinda love Rafe too. (Don’t start sending me hate mail…I still love Jay. I’m fickle like that.)
Of course she had stuff to say about the other stories too. Great stuff. And you can read the rest of her review here.
Anyhoo, because I’m crazy stoked about ENTHRALLED, I’ve decided to offer you a chance to read it early too!
But wait! Not only am I giving away this shiny ARC, but if you act now, I’ll also throw in this super awesome, never before available t-shirt signed by all of us from the Smart Chicks San Francisco stop. That’s right, you can have your very own, one-of-a-kind (and I mean that literally!), Hanes black T signed by Melissa Marr, Kelley Armstrong, Alyson Noel, Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl, Melissa de la Cruz, and me!*
*Available in Men’s Large only (Umm…see the one-of-a-kind comment above.)
Seriously, a Smart Chicks book AND a sweet Smart Chicks t-shirt, where else are you gonna get free stuff like that?!?!
All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me either how much you want this book (and trust me, you totally want it!)...OR because the theme of the book is paranormal road trips, tell me about your best road trip you’ve ever taken. Either one works. That’s an automatic point!
+5 BONUS points if you mark ENTHRALLED as “to-read” on Goodreads. (If you already have, it counts, just let me know that too!)
AND another +5 BONUS points if you snag that ENTHRALLED countdown widget there in my sidebar and share it somewhere (your blog, Facebook, Tumblr…heck, share on that website you made for your pet hamster!). I don’t care where, just share it!
THE RULES:
Tally your points in your comment, and leave me your email address (otherwise I can’t reach you, can I???).
The giveaway will run until Wednesday, July 13th and is open to EVERYONE (not just you US peeps)!!!
Oh, and don’t forget your sunscreen. (What can I say? I’m a mom, and it’s summertime...this is my mantra.)
EDITED: I don't know what's wrong with the widget! I've tried and tried to reformat it but I can't seem to fix it, so it looks like there's a 6 point max. Sorry, folks!!!

Hmm, I actually don't have a "best" road trip because they're all pretty similar (i.e. driving down to Florida, driving up to Canada, driving to NY). My little sister and my routine basically consists of five essential portions: 1) sleep, 2) eating, 3) watching movies on our little car screen, 4) playing the alphabet game (pick a letter and everyone takes turns saying words that being with that letter... it takes HOURS for one letter), and 5) singing along to Backstreet Boys songs. I'm sorry that I can't regal you with fabulous adventures, but what can I say? We're creatures of habit.
+5 Added to goodreads! Thanks for the AWESOME contest. :)

And my favorite road trip ever was on my honeymoon. We drove around southern Utah near Moab and it was so fun to just be completely by ourselves like that for the first time. *sigh* good times. :)
So I guess my total is 6 points.

+5 So I already added it to my TBR list on Goodreads and I want to put the lovely countdown widget on my blog sidebar, but it won't work. :(
As for my best road trip... hmm, I guess it was the one I took right after I graduated collage. OMG, the freedom! The countless possibilities! *dreamy sigh*

Thanks for the giveaway! =)
I really want to read this because it's by awesome authors and I want to read "the other" part of the stories.
Haven't been on a road trip in many years. Guess the best would be when we drove from northeast Ohio to Holden Beach NC. We made the trip in 12 hrs but the driving was great. The only real construction to deal with was around Raleigh. I packed a picnic lunch for us that we at along the way. Real cool to pull off the road and eat mountainside :).
We stayed 5 days on the private beach in our own beach house then drove 12 hrs back. Fantastic time.
Total 6 pts.
Thanks for the giveaway.
vsloboda(at)gmail(dot)com
My first REAL roadtrip(I say real because all the other ones were with family and those don't count!)was actually to a paranormal place. A few friends and I rented a car and traveled to Northern Virginia to visit the Bunnyman Bridge. Though nothing supernatural happened, it was still extremely spooky.

Of COURSE I am looking forward to reading this book. So many awesome authors that I love! It looks just like a bundle of genius.
I would talk about road trips, but I've had too many and pretty much all of them were not so fun...
OH, except I used to take a lot of road trips in Europe (not too crazy, I lived there) and one of my favorites was driving from Germany to Italy. Driving through the Alps is pretty amazing. They are so steep you don't think anyone/thing could live on them. Then, you see the cows grazing! Amazing! (sorry, didn't meant to rhyme!) LOL.

My best road trip: My friend and I traveled cross country to ride roller coasters...unplanned trip. We went to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ and rode the Kingda Ka. That started the excitement that ensued for the trip. We then drove to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio to ride the Mean Streak a wooden roller coaster..amazing! Our trip ended in Williamsburg, Va at Bush Gardens there we rode everything. But Cedar Point was more then I expected.
I really want this book. This year I attended the RT convention in L.A, California. Seen the book there, and tried to bargain with a 12 year old on teen day. I should have taken my daughter with me *sigh*.

This is a MUST HAVE addiction to my growing collection and would make mine and my son's year for sure! That actually brings me to my favorite road trip. My son and I drove from San Antonio to Austin to be there for the start of the Smart Chicks Kick Ass tour! After having read Holly Black's fae related stories and Melissa Marr's to my son (some kids beg for "another book" mine is "another chapter!") we learned about Rachel Vincent and Kelly Armstrong from that awesome tour! We're nearly finished with the available books of Rachel Vincent's lovely Soul Screamers series! Best part about the road trip? Meeting the amazing author's! Getting personalized autographs and photos! Which are on my facebook!
I did add Enthralled to my to read on goodreads, of course!

Oh, and my best road trip was riding in a big bus with all my friends to Texas for summer camp. That was CRAZY fun. We had the best snacks! And for some reason someone brought those individually packaged pickles with the juice in the package which is one of the weirdest snacks I can think of to bring on a road trip. Anyway, the point is, I REALLY want to read this book. Oh, and my email is Micah217343@gmail.com

My best road trip was when we went to Italy in a mini bus a couple of years ago. I live in England so we drove to Dover, took the ferry to France, drove through France and Belgium and then Germany and stopped in Austria for a week (which was beautiful) and then carried on to Italy (Lake Garda) and stayed there for a week. It was very hot and we swam in Lake Garda and ate proper italian pizza in a restaurant that hangs over the cliff above lake Garda. We had a great time.
I have added this to my Goodreads to read list. So thats another 5 points.

Best road trip... when I was 12 or so, my parents and three little brothers got into this beast of a car that actually looked like a lorry. We drove over this low road, that looked really unstable, to Florida. It was pouring it down, and should have been scary. Instead we sang songs, playing eye-spy, made up stories (one brother coming u with a very disturbing one about a vampire bunny) and laughed a lot. It all felt so cozy and warm and safe. For a few hours, even though the road was slick with rain and perhaps rather dangerous, it felt like home inside that monsterous car. Best road trip ever.

Okay... 6 points, the widget thing isn't working for me either.
The reason I REALLY want this book is because I've read your first book The Body Finder and it was EXCELLENT, I honestly couldn't put it down. I've got your next book Desires of the Dead on the way.
Plus, I was a working woman who LOVES reading. So much so that I would even take books to work with me and if I wasn't attending anyone, or while on my lunch break would read. (I'm a hairstylist just in case. And a bit in love [obsessed...lol] with books) But almost 6 weeks ago Tueday, I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Adrianna. Now, I'm a full-time mom and I love my new job, the thing is that I'm all out of books to read and have re-read yours an additional 2 times.
I LOVE all the authors that are a part of this book and have books from all of them seperately. I'm a big fan and would go crazy if I found out that I won. Thanks for the opportunity:

Best road trip ever would be a toss up between going from VA to OH with my grandpa when I was 12 or my honeymoon with my husband from VA to DC to NJ in 2008. Okay or maybe when we took my grandma to DC for a week for her 80th birthday! So many to choose from!

Okay I think it's 6 points. The widget isn't working for me either.
I am a really big fan of yours and I loved your book "The Body Finder." I have "Desires of the Dead" on the way and I cant wait to get it.
I REALLY want this book for many reasons. As I said earlier I'm a very big fan of yours, and of the rest of the women that have contributed their work to this book. I have books from each one of them and I can't get enough.
I love reading. So much so, that I take the books I'm reading at the time to work with me. Whenever I'm not with a client or if I'm on my lunch break you'll find me reading. (I was a full-time stylist just in case.) But as of almost 6 weeks ago Tueday, I gave birth to the light of my eyes, my daughter Adrianna. (Yay for me..!) Now I'm a full-time mom and I LOVE my new job. She's such a good girl that I usually have more then enough time on my hands. I've finished reading all the books that I've got, and I enjoyed yours so much that I've re-read it 2. IF... I won this book I'd go crazy with joy, it would only give me one more thing to do with my babe.
Thank you for the chance.

My best road trip was to Virginia Beach with my swim team. Lots of food, funny stories and good company. It was funny because one of the airvents didn't have the vent you use to close it and one of the girls got cold so she shoved an empty popcorn bag in the whole! Best road trip was with one of my friends. We wanted to see the world finals in reining (horses :p ) and when it finally came to our country we got our chance. We planned for almost a year and got our tickets and after a few (try 10+) phone calls to different hostels we were ready to go.. almost.. The only problem was that she didn't have her drivers license yet. She got to do the test 3 weeks before we were going to go but failed :/ She then got to try again just a few days before our trip and luckily she passed :) So when the day came we got up super early and hit the road :)
Ok, so the book is added on Goodreads (account: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/2682164-linda) so 5 bonus points there :)

Road Trip: Most of my road trips are to Florida and usually consist of my brother and I trying to play our own version of board games in the car (This requires proper planning, because if you hit a bump the pieces go everywhere!). Those drives are great, but the best road trip I've been on was a few years ago. My family drove from Portland, OR to Mt. Hood. Along with almost falling off the mountain, I got to visit the Timberline Lodge, which served as the exterior for the Overlook Hotel in The Shining!!!!! It's one of my favorite horror films/books so I wished we could have stayed longer! A year maybe...
: )We drove from there to Seattle, then to Vancouver, BC. We drove through Canada, which was absolutely beautiful! The Yukon had to be one of my favorite parts of the trip. We got to go horseback riding through the mountains, and on either side of the trail was at least a 25ft drop (A little scary...but a lot of fun!). On the road back we stopped at a ski resort, where I skied for the first time (Almost skied into a tree...a few times). We road in a limousine--another first--the rest of the way. We stopped by a zoo along the way. Everyone was staring at us.... I guess it's sort of weird to see a limousine driving through a zoo?? : ) So much fun!!
+1 for the Road trip
