Parents: The List is GROWING...
I'm just gonna jump right in, guys! Here are some great things to keep you on track:
TeachersPayTeachers.com. This site is a dream...especially if you're anything like me and you have an unholy love for downloads! I stumbled across this site while I was doing research for my picture books. Obviously, they weren't looking into a crystal ball toward the quarantine, but trust me, this is the place to be! These are teachers who are sharing the worksheets they've made for their own classrooms with other educators. Now, some you pay for (and, trust me, I have), but there are SO MANY FREE ONES too! The filters are easy to navigate and there's something for every grade level and every subject.
Khan Academy. Khan Academy is a nonprofit site bringing free online education to everyone. You can find out curriculums, daily schedules, videos, and tutorials, as well as find answers to all your questions about where to get started or where to go next. Seriously, if you haven't tried them, this should be your first stop!
ABCMouse.com. This one's not free, but currently, they're running at almost half price. This is a game-based learning system, perfect for early learners, especially those with short(er) attention spans. With reading, math, art, science, and social studies there's so much for your kids to explore.
Speaking of art (see how well I segue?), The Kennedy Center is hosting author Mo Willems for a "Lunch Doodles". Each day, Mo will share a little of his illustration process. This could be a good way to give kids some educational screentime.
Thanks to Angel Morgan for sharing the Mo Willems link. If you have your own favorite online resources, let me know so I can pay it forward!
